Success at State!
LaFleur's started the state meet weekend with their dynamic Level 8 team. Each athlete on this team competed as well as they possibly could hitting the events that were crucial for us to take the Division 1 title. The LaFleur's athletes, even with their minimal hours of training in the gym, managed to overtake powerhouse gym Orlando Metro. LaFleur's athletes took home 13 gold medals, and placed 2 athletes (Jasmine Kauffman & Jenna Cashmore) on the Florida Regional Team. This team is made up of the top 8 athletes (out of 240 competitors) and they will represent our state at the regional competition. LaFleur's had 15 out of 16 athletes qualify to regionals. Great job to these outstanding Level 8s!
LaFleur's Level 10 team, made up of 4 competitors, finished fifth and won beam in the team competition. Senior Sarena Bumbarger is the beam state champion. Kaitlin Green and Amanda Bertorello went 1-2 in the All-Around in the youngest age group. Kaitlin also took the bars and beam titles. All Level 10s will move on to the regional competition in Clemson, South Carolina in 3 weeks.
LaFleurs Level 9 team came together, and pulled off an amazing Division 1 win! This was the first time all season that all 8 Level 9 athletes competed together at a competition, and boy were they great. All 8 athletes qualified to regionals, and Savannah Chavers and Morgan Marks won all-around titles. Event gold medalists were Savannah (bars), Morgan (bars & beam), Megan (bars), Meghan (bars), and Natalie (vault). Great time to come together and become the team state champions.
Overall LaFleur's Largo won 2 team titles this weekend, surpassing any other team in the state. LaFleur's has won Level 8 and Level 9 Team State Titles 3 out of the last 4 years!!! Great job to the athletes and coaches!

Congratulations to Kaitlin Green on winning the Silver Medal on Beam at Nationals. Kaitlin did an exquisite routine and captured the first ever top 3 finish from a LaFleur's athlete at Level 10 Nationals. Congratulations also to Amanda Condreay on her Bronze Medal All-Around performance and Morgan Marks on her Bronze Medal winning Bar routine at the Level 9 Eastern National Competition.
Nationals Bound!!! Congratulations to Level 10 gymnasts Kaitlin Green and Sarena Bumbarger on their spectacular performances at the regional competition. Both athletes will be on the National Team where they will compete at JO Nationals in Seattle, Washington. Morgan Marks, Amanda Condreay, & Taylor Short will also epresent Region 8 at the Level 9 Eastern National competition in Mississippi. LaFleur's own, Sarena Bumbarger, won the national titles on Bars, Floor, and in the All-Around in the Senior A division in Orlando, Florida. Sarena is the only gymnast from region 8(the southeastern U.S.) that won a National All-Around title at the prestegious competition.
